Inspirar launched in March 2024, and the first publication is out now! Inspirar is an annual student publication that celebrates Hispanic and Latino culture. What’s especially unique about this program is the bilingual mentors and coaches behind it.

A brief overview

  • Duration: March – May (publishes each May)
  • Students meet virtually on Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6 pm (PST)
    • Coaching sessions from professional bilingual journalists
    • Small groups working on their stories with JLI’s bilingual journalism mentors
  • Free to join for middle and high school students
  • Connects students with supportive peer networks
  • Improves journalistic skills
  • Empowers seldom-heard voices
